Role Models: Why Its Important to Not Have One

People usually say role models are important because you need someone to look up to. There is a good reason why I believe having a role model can hinder you. A role model is someone you admire and want to be like but they are not perfect. They make mistakes and are living the same life you are in. If you copy them wishing for the success they have you truly are missing out on your own success.

Role Models may look perfect but they are far from it. You might see their mistakes as perfection but these same mistakes are costing them their life and causing them financial distress. They also are not really benefiting from their own mistakes but for you to copy them and attempt to one up them on their life shows how much you truly have no self-worth. You might enjoy success temporarily but its short-lived and you will continually keep copying them till you erode your own essence and live a beggar and soulless.

A role model is someone you should admire but not destroy. If for example you like superman as a role model  would you go up to superman and punish him in the face then go be superman? What is the sense in that? In fact once you punch superman and run ..you will eventually get caught up with because superman will be onto you. However let us say superman lets it slide and you do not get caught being superman and you go for another punch. Superman this time got stronger and can beat you at your own game and will evade your punch and you will hit the brick wall superman knew was there but you were dumb to see.

The point I am trying to make is that copying role model is okay as long as its inspiring you but destroying your role model or attempting to hurt others by being the role model in order to gain will not help you either. The purpose of a role model is to prode you onto greater things not for upmanship. Be good to others and treat your role model with respect so that you can get respect back.
